Tom Lewis is our new identity for the established design business now called Lewis Design Consultancy.

During this time we have combined traditional values with quality service; and contemporary thinking with innovative design. This has enabled us to embrace change and move into a new future.

The founder of the company, Tom Lewis, has been involved in the textile design business since 1957 and has seen many changes during that time. Tom began by supplying designs to the booming Manchester print business in the 1950s. But as the market has changed so has the company. Tom Lewis Studio’s rapidly expanded into the North American market in the 1960s and during the 1990s was one of the first studios to enter the Far East market attending Japantex in 1993.

Since that time we have formed successful partnerships in China, Japan and South Korea. In early 2010 we opened our own office in Shanghai, China

The company has been at the forefront of many new developments within the industry. One of the first design studios to exhibit at Heimtextil in 1977 and was a founder exhibitor at the Surtex show in New York. As well as our reputation for having the best hand painted artwork, Tom Lewis was also one of the very first studios to develop CAD technology in the early 1990's. The company are not content to look back at it's past success, and is eagerly looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead especially during this period of global change.
